What Is Light Force Therapy and How Does It Work?
Feb 9, 2026
Healing
Light Force Therapy is a treatment that uses red and near-infrared light to support the body’s natural healing. The light is applied to the skin where it penetrates deep into tissues, reaching muscles, nerves and even bones.
The main target is mitochondria, the “powerhouses” of cells. Inside them, an enzyme called cytochrome c oxidase absorbs the light. When activated, it boosts energy production, which helps repair tissue, ease pain and reduce inflammation.
Because it works at a cellular level, Light Force Therapy has wide benefits. It is non-invasive, drug-free and delivered using a handheld device moved gently across the skin. Most people feel only mild warmth or tingling, if anything at all.
This approach is becoming increasingly popular in rehabilitation and pain management. Whether supporting recovery after an injury or managing ongoing discomfort, Light Force Therapy offers a safe and effective way to enhance the body’s natural healing.
Conditions Light Force Therapy Can Help With
Feb 9, 2026
Healing
Light Force Therapy reduces pain, calms inflammation and supports recovery. By working at a cellular level, it can be applied to a range of conditions.
Some of the most common uses include:
Tendonitis and bursitis: eases inflammation and discomfort.
Post-surgery recovery: reduces swelling and supports healing.
Wound healing: encourages soft tissue repair.
Joint injuries and arthritis: helps with stiffness and pain.
Muscle strains: speeds recovery and reduces soreness.
Because the light penetrates below the skin, it reaches ligaments, tendons and joints as well as muscles. This makes it suitable for both sudden injuries and longer-term issues.
Patients often notice reduced pain, better movement and quicker recovery after several sessions. Athletes may use it for post-training recovery, while others find it valuable for chronic conditions like arthritis.
Light Force Therapy is best used as part of a wider care plan. Its safety, adaptability and drug-free approach make it a useful option for rehabilitation and pain relief.
What to Expect During Light Force Therapy
Feb 9, 2026
Healing
Light Force Therapy sessions are straightforward, comfortable and safe. Knowing what to expect can help you prepare.
Each appointment begins with an assessment to confirm whether the therapy is appropriate for your condition. You will then be seated or lying down while the treatment area is exposed.
Because laser light is used, both you and the practitioner wear protective goggles. A handheld device is placed on your skin and moved slowly over the affected area in sweeping or circular motions.
Most people feel no discomfort. Some describe a gentle warmth or tingling, but the treatment is not painful. Sessions usually last between 5 and 15 minutes depending on the area treated.
There is no downtime afterwards. You can continue your normal routine immediately, and many patients report reduced pain or improved mobility either straight away or over a series of treatments.
Light Force Therapy is designed to be non-invasive, quick and effective, making it an accessible treatment option for both recovery and long-term pain management.
What is Myofascial Dry Cupping?
Feb 2, 2026
Healing
Myofascial dry cupping is a manual therapy technique often combined with massage to ease pain, release tension and improve mobility. The treatment involves placing plastic suction cups on the skin. These create negative pressure, lifting the skin and underlying fascia — the connective tissue surrounding muscles, bones and organs.
This decompression effect helps separate fascia from muscle, releasing adhesions and reducing tightness. Many people find it effective for targeting knots, improving flexibility and restoring movement in restricted areas.
Cupping is non-invasive and generally not painful. During treatment you may feel a deep stretch or gentle pulling. Afterwards, it is common to notice circular marks or mild bruising where the cups were applied. These usually fade within a few days and are not uncomfortable.
Because it works on both fascia and muscle, cupping is used as a supportive therapy for a wide range of conditions. Whether combined with massage or used alone, it offers a simple way to relieve tightness and support recovery.
The Benefits of Myofascial Dry Cupping
Feb 2, 2026
Healing
Dry cupping has become increasingly popular as a way to manage pain, improve mobility and support recovery. By lifting the skin and fascia away from muscle, it reduces tension and improves circulation.
Some key benefits include:
Improved mobility: loosens tight tissues.
Reduced muscle tension: eases knots and trigger points.
Better circulation: boosts blood flow and lymphatic drainage.
Pain relief: may reduce discomfort and inflammation.
Enhanced recovery: supports faster recovery after exercise or injury.
Because cupping uses decompression rather than compression, it provides a unique method of releasing tightness. This makes it a useful complement to massage, stretching and physiotherapy.
Many people notice a greater range of motion and reduced stiffness after treatment. Athletes often include cupping in their recovery routines, while others use it to manage everyday aches.
Although results vary, dry cupping is valued as a safe, drug-free therapy that works with the body’s natural healing systems.
Common Uses of Dry Cupping
Feb 2, 2026
Healing
Myofascial dry cupping can be applied to many conditions where fascia and muscle tightness cause pain or restriction. It is a versatile treatment often used in both rehabilitation and recovery.
Common applications include:
Back and neck pain: especially from tight muscles or poor posture.
Shoulder stiffness: helps restore movement.
Plantar fasciitis: supports recovery from heel pain.
IT band syndrome: reduces tightness in the thigh.
Chronic tension headaches: eases muscle strain contributing to headaches.
Postural imbalances: relieves tension from sitting or repetitive strain.
Exercise recovery: helps athletes recover after intense training.
During treatment, cups are placed on targeted areas to release fascia and reduce tightness. The technique is often combined with other therapies such as massage or stretching, making it adaptable for different needs.
While not a stand-alone cure, many people find cupping helpful in managing discomfort, improving mobility and supporting performance. It provides a safe, non-invasive option for those seeking relief from muscle tension and restricted movement.
Abi Takes on HYROX Manchester for Macmillan Cancer Support 💚
Jan 28, 2026
Trips
Last week, our brilliant sports therapist Abi took on HYROX Manchester, completing one of the toughest fitness races out there, all in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.
For anyone unfamiliar, HYROX is a global indoor fitness race that combines running with functional workout stations. Competitors complete eight 1km runs, each followed by a demanding workout such as sled pushes, rowing, wall balls, lunges, and burpees. It’s a true test of strength, endurance, and mental grit and Abi smashed it.
Not only did she complete the event, but Abi also raised an incredible £1,000+ for Macmillan Cancer Support. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing generosity of her friends, family, and patients, and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated or shared their support.
Abi went above and beyond by running an in-clinic fundraiser in the lead-up to the event, offering free massages and a prize hamper to help boost donations, a perfect example of her generosity and commitment to the cause.
We’re incredibly proud of Abi for taking on such a huge challenge and supporting such an important charity. An outstanding effort for an amazing cause well done, Abi!
Chiropractors Ski
Jan 21, 2026
Trips
Spending a few days skiing with a chiropractic group is a simple but rewarding way to combine time on the mountain with professional learning. The days are spent skiing together, enjoying the fresh air and beautiful mountain views.
In the evenings, the group gathers for Continuing Professional Development sessions. After a full day on the slopes, there are lots of funny stories to tell. From hysterical wipeouts, to getting completely lost and having to hike some kilometers while fully kitted, and some serious après ski for some. The discussions have people sharing ideas, asking questions, and reflecting on their work. The relaxed setting makes it easier to stay engaged and absorb new information.
By the end of the trip, it feels less like an event and more like time well spent, skiing, learning, and connecting in a way that’s unforced and genuinely enjoyable.
The Path to Progress: Why Healing is a Journey
Jan 19, 2026
Healing
When it comes to chiropractic care, healing rarely happens overnight. Much like the “Path to Progress” chart from BackTalk Systems, recovery is often a staged process. Initial care focuses on relieving pain and addressing the immediate issue, before shifting toward restoring proper function and mobility. The final stage is about maintaining results and preventing problems from returning, ensuring lasting improvements to your health.
Preventative care plays a vital role in this journey. Just as regular dental check-ups keep your teeth healthy, ongoing chiropractic visits can protect your spine, improve mobility, and reduce the risk of future issues. By staying consistent and understanding that healing is a gradual process, you give your body the best chance to stay strong, healthy, and resilient.
